Late last year I started photographing a series of “offbeat” images for my portfolio. This is the first image in the series “the runner”. We set up an old treadmill in the woods and lit the shot with 2 lights: a studio strobe in a softbox just right of the camera and a speedlight behind and to the right of Allen to give him some separation from the background.
Shooting Mr. Green
This morning’s portrait session with Mr. Green got moved from the reasonably-sized Winthrop Room to the cavernous Mackay Room due to ongoing construction at the club.
For the portrait I ended up using 3 lights – a studio strobe in a softbox as my main light, a Nikon speedlight bounced off the ceiling slightly behind the victim subject to bring up the ambient light in the room and give him some separation from the background and another speedlight outside to light the patio table.
